teachers' day 2007

teachers' day 2007 was a blast!

skipped aces with jeslyn and cheri then we went to dance studio. relived last year by dancing our last year's teachers' day dance countless times. ahh, the days. ran around from studio to class, from class back to studio, from studio to hall and back. photo of sec three boys:
they had teachers' day dance this year too. the guys were much more impressive than ours last year, but the girls were not really up to expectations. nevermind, there's always a first time in everything. somehow i only got the guys to pose for me, so here are two more, though not so well taken, photos.

jiayu wanted to take a picture with me in short hair, so there.

so at 10.30 we made our way to the canteen for the compulsory class party. the idea's rather nonsensical, but still we enjoyed ourselves. didn't get many teachers though. ordered pastries, a hundred of them and we got the sandwiches free. heh.

and two cartons of yeo's packet drinks too, but i'm sure you've seen them before, so no photos:P

had to wait for the teachers to arrive, so we spent pretty much time starring at the food. while i i was barefooted and happily standing on canteen tables snapping pictures. i love the feeling of being tall.

many classes did their yam seng, so we figured out we shouldn't be left behind too. they used potato chips and pizza and cupped drinks, we use yeo's packet drinks! yea man. support my own family business. YEO'S.

he's not just dr. foo suan fong, not just the principal of nan hua high school, he's the second co-form of secondary 411 of year 2007 okay. and yes, we got really big apples today as a gift from him, cuz he earned his phd recently.

though the committee repeated umpteen times to not sabotage teachers of make a mess, fourone apparently didn't care. cream smeared on almost everybody's faces and jerseys, and even teachers were not spared. mr chow did alot of the smearing in fact. took a picture with ms jesse lim, who received a huge pile of food for teachers day and was obviously very happy with it (no sacarsm intended), but it's with aaron.

saw the concert, second half of the dance from the guys part onwards and the video by 3/8. i've already commented on the dance, but i've got to say the video's really good. the idea. well, ruth cried. world without teachers would really be chaotic eh? quoted: "oh! oh! i know where the great wall of china is in! america!" but the vieo was seemingly makde with movie maker luh. and yes, after the torturous experience of doing the class graduation video, i've decided that i don't like movie maker. somebody introduce me to some nicer program please.

i'm not too well yet, had diahorrea four times today already. must be the antibiotics. scroll down to see its side effects, in the previous post. my mum says "don't sleep too late!" (meaning she wants me to sleep now, at 4.08 pm.) well okay. i shall be lazy and pig my september holidays away.

oh yea for sec fours, if you're interested in maths lessons during the sept hols, mon's integration at 4/5 classroom, wed's statistics at 4/1 classroom and fri's functions at the auditorium. see you there!

new exco

i'm pretty happy with the new dance exco. esp vice-chair, stephanie chia. haha. cuz that was what i wanted to be last year, and finally the name's on the list now, even if it isnt me.

yes, i'm here blogging at 12 11pm. i'm at home, cuz i'm down with bacterial infection. went to the docs yesterday after a traumatising day of running nose and sore throat and shivering in school. german compo somemore. i'm positive i screwed it up.

was feeling really awful in school, so i sms-ed frau oestlund if i could take my compo another day. she didn't reply for quite some time, so i called up moelc office. the lady said that even with an mc, i'll either fail or get zero. so i cabbed there in the heavy rain with grace and huishan. only when i reached the centre did i receive frau oestlund's reply. "you can take the exam on friday. come and see me." dang. told her i'm already at the centre, so it's okay.

hannah lent me her sister's mgs jacket during the exam, else i think i'll freeze or smthn. was sitting at the back, and herr neiser couldnt spot me when taking attendance. damn funny. he was like, "and finally..." cuz my name's the last on the name list, "eh? i thought i saw her just now..." and he glanced around the classroom several times. i decided he couldnt see me, so i popped my head out and smiled. then he went "AHH! stephanie!" and we all burst into laughter.

Gott sei dank, dass ich mich erkalte nur nach meine mundlichen prufung am montag. aber es wurde besser ist, wenn ich nicht kranke bin.

that's my antibiotics. it's damn big, 2cm in length, as you can see. the packaging's abit over done too, if you refer to the first picture. for each capfule, the casing thing takes up like, 4.5 cm. luckily the tablet's not that size. and oh, note the side effects.

and this is my flu cum fever tablet. it has a crown on one side! haha.

tomorrow's german compre and listening. hope i'll produce decent results. i'm aiming for h2 german, which'll require a grade of b3 and above, for both prelims and o's.

i've slept for more than 12 hours from last night till this morning around 11, and i think i'm going to sleep more. bye.

the first thing that struck me once blogger took me to my dashboard was:

it's been left dead for quite awhile. haven't gone to see the new post, will do so later.

yesterday was njc open day, and me and liwen were brought around by leungyan. yes, the valedictorian of nh last year.

leungyan: why are there so many people looking at me as if they know me but i don't know them?

liwen: speech day. (his valedictory speech early this year) it spoils everything.

went to the sigma lab, 've no idea what it stands for. was pretty facinated by the chinese names they gave the equipment.

well we didn't really see the disection luh. just the removal of skin at the underside, then the people were using all sorts of funny tools to try to splice the flesh. quoted: "hey the scapel's not sharp enough! "then they used needles and scissors but were still unable to cut open the flesh.

the nj mascot shook hands with me twice, but never with liwen. once in the linkway slope area, the other time in the library. makes me wonder who's inside.

and yes, stephanie can't do h2 maths cuz she's never passed a maths. the teachers were trying to put words together when i told them i've never passed a maths. i think they were trying to rephrase "well for such a loser like you, you should just cancel njc off your list of jc choices." whatever. i don't want to go there anyway.

stupid nj ip choir guy. replied my sms one week late. when georg (gee-org) and frederich (frederick) and company went back that morning.

liwen was pretty fascinated by the fact that i spoke german to the german teacher there. leung yan brought us to the german room mah. i don't even recall speaking german actually. i only know leung yan said "sie lernt deutsch auch." (she learns german too.) to the teacher, then she started talking to me.

this supposed senior person gave me an indian dance bangle. i guess the uniform really does wonders huh.

that aside. we celebrated mdm yong's birthday during recess yesterday. with the drawing she requested for and bee hoon treat by her.

don't wonder how i took this photo. even though you can actually see my shoe, which'll give you a hint.

the drawing by amber we took off the noticeboard to give mdm yong. i had to be real high to take thig picture okay. it's a1 sized.

bee hoon in canteen! we sang the birthday song real loud, despite protests by mdm yong. i guess when you're older you don't really want to accept the fact that you're aging huh.

oh the drawing was presented by felice and qimin, qimin cuz she looked sorta porn after running 2.4 in the rain. the drawing was big enough to cover.

oh. stephanie failed three subjects for common test two. a maths was the wonderfullest, 25%. then ss was 44.something and HIGHER CHINESE 46.4. yes believe it, i failed chinese. ruth went: "eh i don't believe. chinese lit one leh."

so now you all know. chinese lit doesnt equate to good chinese. i can't do compre for nuts. i've got poor understanding, whatever. it's the same with english. failed the ct initially, dunno where mrs owyong found two marks to make it 16 upon thirty. but i'm glad she did, otherwise i'll have four underlined subjects. when i take ten. lol. (and german prelim's earlier than all others by more than a week, and i still suck at it. damn.)

just in one third lang class, with less than thirty people, we've got three people with the same phone. my phone.

yes, i haven't figured out what' it is with guys named aaron. they've got the same kind of personality. like, lameness that makes you love and hate at the same time. hannah thinks he's annoying. not the nan hua aaron chan, but the acs barker aaron lee or something. can't rmb his surname but i know he's called jun wei in chinese. frau tan pronounces aaron as AHron. and he's a moodswing-plagued pregnant lady who eats those sour things. heh.

there's something wrong with my typing today. i've lost count of how many times i've hit the backspace button.

and i proclaim, ne quiz is dumb. ruth got highest when i left the room. haha. some answer-question-to-get-money-then-spend-it-building-stuff-on-the-island game. every ten minutes or so it goes "congratulations! due to your leadership, singapore has successfully progressed into the next era." and i emerged as an expert builder in the end. thank you very much, but yeo xin ying stephanie doesnt relish being an architect later in life.

while having dinner at jp's kopitiam just now, this man came to me. he had a lanyard round his neck, and apparently his right hand's unable to function. was sort of mutated.
but well, that's not the point. he placed a little red plastic bag of somwthing that looked like a sandwich on my table, and flashed the lanyard at me, making sounds that promted me to read the card.
it said : "my name is jeffery and i have speaking disabilities. please be patient with me." so i gave a little nod. then he gave a fierce wave to the table beside me at which a couple was having their meal. he had approached them before he came over, and i think they were rude to him, cuz he screamed pretty loud at them.
he left the plastic bag on my table, then went off, i guess, to get food. the table i was at had only two chairs, one i was sitting on and the other for my bag. i put my bag on my lap and moved the chair further away so maybe he could sit when he came back.
yes, he returned. with some snacks to take away with him. he was using his left hand to untie the knot on the red plastic bag he left on the table and it looked like it wasn't easy (i saw, it was a double knot) and i was thinking that if he still can't do it, i might help him. but he did it anyway.
after he put his food into that open bag and tied it back and left.
but before that, he pointed and sort of non-verbally insulted that couple i mentioned earlier. i just smiled and said bye. then he said "okay!" (and i thought he was supposed to have speaking disabilities) and made some funny noises and bent towards me, showing me the card again. i asked him to take care, and said bye fore the second time. he said "okay" again, and i said bye for the third time (i was getting pretty pissed by then) and he finally left.

my mum saw me typing this, so i told her the whole story. she thinks it's the same man that goes to her branch of macs to ask for free food. cuz of the flashing the card thing. well i don't know.

wed math

liwen owes andrea two bucks cuz she lost a bet on whether it was night study of humans on thurs or fri. LOL.

today mr chia treated us chicken rice! he just went around the canteen, saying, "i going tabao chicken rice, you all want?" so i think he ended up clearing the chicken rice stall. we had nine people seven packets, since jas and ade bought dinner earlier. yes, chicken rice ration. cuz ours was a pretty small amount as compared to their cai fan. haha. but i still gave bright and kerong half my rice luh. and basketball with andrea! heh.

a math with liwen and jasmine and adelaine and chiuping and bright and kerong and andrea and junjie. heh. kenyi was shouting to his friends in basketball court, so i out of fun went "shhh!"
then he turned around and said sorry. and i realised we were like, the noisiest bunch in the whole canteen, out of the sixty two people. yes i counted.

so today i was in school for more than 12 hours. 7.30am reach school, 8.30pm leave school. thirteen hours lor! and and, the sky's the same colour when i left school just now as when i leave my house in the morning for school!

yes i know it's monday, and i've got an a maths test later. was lazy to update, but i couldnt stand seeing my latest post everytime i open up an internet window. heh.

saved a 518kbps version of class video. it's not the best resolution around, but at least i've got something to hand in later. anything above that and my comp goes bonkers. i think i need additional computers more than aaron does.

i'm pretty weird. when the national day long hols came, i was rather much hating it. but now i'm like trying to preserve every minute and second of what's left.

when by right, the holidays have been over for twentuy minutes. (and stephanie, you need to go to sleep.)

i cheated. i didn't do three paper two section bs of the many chem other schools papers we were given. it doesnt really matter to me anymore luh. i've been doing so much chem that now i don't know what i'm doing. maybe i should just focus on a maths.

oh, i scored a double digit the other time. 10 upon forty. heh.

and, i've been getting fatter staying at home. cuz i eat and sleep and use the comp and eat and sleep. wonderful.

now i'm convinced i need school. and i'm doing to look for mr chow tomorrow later. it's going to be interesting. read his blog(:

national day'07

dang. one year ago...

i've been doing that alot today. just can't help remembering last year's ndp. even jerry's doing that da bum ba dum thing on my tagboard.

yea man. one year ago at this time i think i was still on the way to school because they let the sec ones and twos go back first and us sec threes had to wait for the last bus to send us back after sending the rest to school. and i took the last train home for dunno how many saturdays.

but well, one year's come and gone. time really passes fast huh.

so anyway. i received my first "happy national day" message from mr foo. yes, principal of nan hua high school. though i've got this feeling fang yu helped him send it. cuz it had a smiley face which i don't think my principal would ever use.

mum: ndp not at national stadium doesnt have the ambience.
me: well three years later (cuz the floating platform will be used for three years), you'll say that ndp at a stadium's weird.

svc award

happy national day eve!
walked to school with daphne, then we got ourselves a very big surprise. saw miss j lim as we walked up stairs, expected her to catch socks so we went back down and pulled up socks. then walk in. then she pointed at the two of us and said:

all red t-shirts MUST be tucked in. you two stay here and tell all the other students to tuck in their shirts for five minutes until i come back. then i'll find another two to replace you.

but we definitely stayed for more than five minutes luh. it was fun though, getting everybody to tuck in their shirts. we were like,

tuck in your red shirts, else jesse lim catch. yes i know it's stupid, i think so too. walk past then can pull out already.

the best, man. and daphne was complaining about being late for service award assembly the whole time.

so at seven (we reached at 6.41), miss lim finally released us. we ran to canteen. and were only asked to line up after like eons. number one hundred and eighteen! yes, that's my number, so i was like the third last. almost hyperventilated when i saw that it was mr lau giving out prizes. and mr foo was talking to miss lin rc. gag. i'd much prefer my principal than my 2nd vp.
but anyway. i heard 411 cheer loud loud for qingyun. and when it was my turn, it was apparently louder, and when mr lau shook my hand, he said:

whoa you very popular huh.

i smiled and said thankyou and left. with my cert and plaque in hand, i proceeded to amphitheatre to join the rest. and when i walked past the wall structure, i heard some guy say:

slut class also can get arh.

wonderful. but i just walked on. a little two one gathering there with mr tan. he said that he expected nothing less. there were fifteen ex-twoone service award recipients okay. liwen and i went to count. so we chatted for awhile, then aaron poped the question.

eh mr tan when are you getting married arh?

then he was like. okayokay i need to go. i love my sec one and two form teacher man.

interclass games were awesome. though we didn't win, but we definitely had loads of fun. fournine was pretty violent during captain's ball, but they had the skills luh. floorball was against them too, and this time i played. i think we lost like, one three or something. but it was fun. it was only after that game that i really felt that any title's unimportant. it's just vauge, what matters is your experience throughout.
skipping. we just kept jumping and jumping lor. and i think we're the only class with the teacher voluteering to join us okay.

MDM YONG WE LOVE YOU!!

yea she came down from the hall to skip with us for around ten minutes before she had to go back up. so we just kept skipping. really great class bonding activity, doesnt matter if we only had six people skipping together.

when the sec four classes were asked to assemble, four eleven formed a big circle and began playing games. concentration and heart attack. damn fun. i was telling melissa as the chairmen and vice chairmen were to gather at the back of the hall, that today i felt that i really love my class.

after dismissal, actually was to go with ruth and clarissa and emily and cheryl y to pizza hut for lunch. but then amber at the other end wanted to go bukit timah, so they accomodated the post-surgery girl. and i left with gen and four one people. initial plan was to go jp, but there was some objection only when we reached central. so we stayed at the mrt station blocking the way at the slope for a million years. and since we couldnt come up with a decision, some smart-ass suggested we just take the mrt to some random place. i was anti-town cuz i didn't want to accomodate those that deviated from the plan. was pretty pissed when they couldnt come up with a proper location, so i said that if they really can't decide, i'll get off at the next stop and go home.
and that was what i did. alighted at buona vista and went home.

okay. in the end, can somebody tell me exactly how "cool" i am? (i've received many comments from people that i look like i'm picking for a fight when i don't smile. lol.)

here's responding to aaron and ruth:

Each player of this game starts off with TEN weird things or habits or little known facts about yourself. People who get tagged must write in a blog of their own TEN weird things/habits/little known facts as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you must choose SIX people to be tagged and list their names. NO TAG BACKS.

1. i learnt ballet for eight years, yet i was only at grade two when i quit cuz of asthma. i quit art lesson in pri three cuz of the same reason.
2. i've got a grade one in keyboard. quit cuz my hand was too small at that time to play the notes mi and high do at the same time :x
3. i'm a lazy person. when i do homework, i'll just put everything on my bed while i do stuff at my table. then when i find the bed too cluttered, i'll just leave the things there and go sleep in my brother's room. that's how i survived this week.
4. i like to sleep on hard surfaces. that's why i sleep best at camps, cuz all they give us is wooden bunks. nice.
5. i don't like to take initiative to talk to people. it sounds pretty stupid, but yea. if you don't start talking to me, i wont's talk to you. lucky aaron said something that prompted me to reply, else i'll have lost a really good friend.
6. i played basketball nearly every week since pri 5 to sec 1. with pri schoolmates. then one fine day weimin decided not to go, then the whole group fell apart, and i've never really touched a basketball since. not counting pe lessons. and i can't shoot nuts now. jessie can vouch for that.
7. i can't watch horror movies. the last one i watched was child's play in student care, and i had to have my dad sleep with me for a few months. since then, i've never dared to watch anything horror. even incredible tales on channel five gives me the creeps.
8. but very few people have scared me, e.g. hide in some corner and scream "boo!" as i walk past. ask ruth. sometimes i scare her instead.
9. i've got split personalities. just in school, i'm different in class, with 4/1 people, in dance and along the corridors. i'm the craziest in class, then 4/1, corridors then dance. sometimes i'll randomly talk to people i don't know along the corridors.
10. i've got dory memory. well for some things i can remember right down to the tinniest detail, cuz for others, uhm, they're just chucked away in some ulu corner of my brain that neurons seldom get to.
