steph's cool.
one day, grace went home and told joy,
"jiejie! i think stephanie 比你cool leh!"
joy's response: "huh. 我cool meh."
and i said: "i never dare to smile to grace, 因为她每次都用很funny的眼光看住我."
joy: "可能她看你没有跟她笑then 她也不敢跟你笑."
(man that was hard to type. why must singaporeans speak like that?!?!)
okay. in the end, can somebody tell me exactly how "cool" i am? (i've received many comments from people that i look like i'm picking for a fight when i don't smile. lol.)
and yes, i love the swarovski crystal handphone strap. thanks!

tagged.
Each player of this game starts off with TEN weird things or habits or little known facts about yourself. People who get tagged must write in a blog of their own TEN weird things/habits/little known facts as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you must choose SIX people to be tagged and list their names. NO TAG BACKS.
- i learnt ballet for eight years, yet i was only at grade two when i quit cuz of asthma. i quit art lesson in pri three cuz of the same reason.
- i've got a grade one in keyboard. quit cuz my hand was too small at that time to play the notes mi and high do at the same time :x
- i'm a lazy person. when i do homework, i'll just put everything on my bed while i do stuff at my table. then when i find the bed too cluttered, i'll just leave the things there and go sleep in my brother's room. that's how i survived this week.
- i like to sleep on hard surfaces. that's why i sleep best at camps, cuz all they give us is wooden bunks. nice.
- i don't like to take initiative to talk to people. it sounds pretty stupid, but yea. if you don't start talking to me, i wont's talk to you. lucky aaron said something that prompted me to reply, else i'll have lost a really good friend.
- i played basketball nearly every week since pri 5 to sec 1. with pri schoolmates. then one fine day weimin decided not to go, then the whole group fell apart, and i've never really touched a basketball since. not counting pe lessons. and i can't shoot nuts now. jessie can vouch for that.
- i can't watch horror movies. the last one i watched was child's play in student care, and i had to have my dad sleep with me for a few months. since then, i've never dared to watch anything horror. even incredible tales on channel five gives me the creeps.
- but very few people have scared me, e.g. hide in some corner and scream "boo!" as i walk past. ask ruth. sometimes i scare her instead.
- i've got split personalities. just in school, i'm different in class, with 4/1 people, in dance and along the corridors. i'm the craziest in class, then 4/1, corridors then dance. sometimes i'll randomly talk to people i don't know along the corridors.
- i've got dory memory. well for some things i can remember right down to the tinniest detail, cuz for others, uhm, they're just chucked away in some ulu corner of my brain that neurons seldom get to.
and i'm tagging: annabel, aloysius, annette, shana, amber, kaiwen! wow. four a people out of six. hah. you're it!

missed!
reminds me of dobby. dang we're all going harry potter-crazy. "dobby will do everything harry potter asks him to!"
okay, little thing, i'll go after i'm done with this post okay? you've got no idea who's been longing for my update.
well actually, i don't even know myself. clarissa suggests putting a counter. but imagine the utter disappointment if i check on two consecutive days and see that the counter hasn't jumped at all.
anyway. happy birthday mozzie!! fifteen of us from 4eleven shared her present, yes, 15. we got her a doll house complete with a doorbell with sound, a family with a daughter, a dog that's bigger than the daddy (miss j lim pointed that out) and toilet bowl and sofa and stereo and everything.
and congrats qingyun on her acceptance for dsa into acjc! i hope to receive more success reports from the rest who applied!
my mum just screamed at my bro, who's pri four and got a p2 maths qn wrong. damn. i can't do a maths okay. here's proof:
e maths class test: 47/50

ack.
(i've been using that word alot these days, no idea why.)
i'm stuck with
- a maths test paper
- mgs chem paper
- 3 chinese lit essay analysis for test tomorrow
- ss chapter 5 for test on thurs
- bio 2005 for mrs lip
and the day'll be over in 7 hours 45 mins time. jubilations.
anyway. ballet under the stars with gen and aswin and gwen (gen's sister) and clarissa(gen's cousin) and gen's uncle and aunt last night. it was...nice luh. i still think the rgs syf costume looks like toilet paper. and the third item had some hiccups cuz of a dancer's injury. the way the choreographer annouced it was real cool. like, "voila. hi, i'm the choreographer, _______. we apologise that due to an injury, we will not be able to perform the 2nd part or the item, however we will carry on with the 1st and 3rd part. we will, still play the music for the 2nd part, in respect to the composer ________. he wrote the piece for his son's birthday."
reached home at 11+ and slept at past twelve, which means that i was awake for a whole 24 hours. or even more than that, cuz i woke up at 11.57 on friday night. heh.

problematic a people. oh. the aaron and andrea's thing's funny. and kengyang's going to be a househusband. not only is he able to cook, he knits too!
hectic weekend ahead. ballet under the stars in 16+ hours time. heh(:

i love these emails.
My name is khalid mahmoud, A Bahrain national I have been diagnosed with Oesophageal cancer .It has defiled all forms ofmedical treatment, and right now I have only about a few months to live, according to medical experts.I have not particularly lived my life so well, as I never really cared for anyone(not even myself)but my business.Though I am very rich, I was never generous, I was always hostile to people and only focused on my business as that was the only thing I cared for. But now I regret all this as I now know that there is more to life than just wanting to have or make all the money in the world. I believe when God gives me a second chance to come to this world I would live my life a different way from how I havelived it. Now that God has called me, I have willed and given most of my property and assets to my immediate and extended family members as well as a few close friends .I want God to be merciful tome and accept my soul so, I have decided to give alms to charity organizations, as I want this to be one of the last good deeds I do on earth. Sofar, I have Distributed money to some charity organizations in the U.A.E, Somalia and Malaysia. Now that my health has deteriorated so badly, I cannot do this myself anymore. I once asked members of my family to close one of my accounts and distribute the money which I have there to charity organization in Bulgaria and Pakistan, they refused and kept the money to themselves. Hence,I do not trust themanymore, as they seem not to be contended with what I have leftfor them. The last of my money which no one knows of is the huge cash deposit of Eighteen Million dollars($18,000,000,00)that I have with a finance House abroad. I will want you to help me collect this deposit and despatch it to charity organizations.
N/B:KINDLY NOTE THAT you will take out 20% of this funds for your effort and time. Regards, Mr.khalid mahmoud.
I WOULD WANT YOU TO REACH ME VIA MY PRIVATE EMAIL IFYOU ARE WILLING TO ASSIST ME.

abortion
if this mother already has five children, and out of the five three are disabled (think along the line of blindness, hearing impared, down's syndrome, autism etc.), and she's unemployed while her husband's an odd job worker. and one fine day she gets pregnant.
the chance that this child turns up abnormal is rather high, and the family can't really afford to raise another child anyway, even so if he/she comes out disabled. so i won't object if they choose abortion.
but of course, birth control would help solve the problem.
another one:
considering this couple are both high-ranked people in a company. (separate or not, you decide.) they've already got two kids, the younger one by accident. which means, they initially olny planned to have one child, since they're both busy. then another one fine day, the lady gets pregnant. accident too. mother and mother-in-law are both aged, father and father-in-law same as well, and they've already got two kids to handle.
and a few months later, a check shows that this foetus has down's syndrome.
i won't blame this couple for chossing abortion too, since they're already so busy and i personally think it isn't right to just dump your kids to your parents or in-laws. i mean, after all, they're YOUR kids, not you parents' or your in-laws' right? furthermore, this third child may cause everything else to be more complicated.
but of course, if another lady, who's married and hasn't had a child yet, suddenly gets pregnant one day, and decided to abort it after determining the sex of the foetus after three months. the couple wanted a girl, yet the scan showed a boy.
then it's a whole different case. they shouldn't be aborting the child for gender isn't everything.

the joy.
yesterday (12 july) was a special day! haha. aaron's blog for photos. no me though.
and. there's only one other person online right now. meng hua. and i doubt he's really in front of the comp.
but anyway. it's friday! which means, there'll be no school tomorrow and the day after tomorrow! ok that's lame. considering your truly's a sec four bombarded with all sorts of funny things ranging from tys-es and german compos scoring nine out of thirty.
something to be elated about:
4eleven got 2nd for interclass netball!!! or 1st...runner up, as yanglu put it. won 4/2 this time round, but lost to 4/8 4/10 combined.
from 3rd to 2nd, we shall get a first soon! heh.
hey. i think i'm going to do more work.
but wait. it's nearly 3am. go sleep, steph.

post-live earth
which means, mr al gore, your idea of the concerts for a climate in crisis weren't really THAT successful.
though i enjoyed it!(:
and i seriously think the climate's getting crazy. it's raining really heavily now, like, low visibility and strong winds and thunder and lightning and red skies. how long ago haven't we had such heavy rains at 10.36pm on a sunday night?
the core rocks. the movie i mean, the one that was shown after life earth. don't take advantage of the planet people, yes, our lovely blue planet, else it'll STOP SPINNING and things will go horrendously wrong. like birds killing themselves by colliding into buildings, electricity coming out of coffee makers, tvs going off during the climate of a football match, earthquakes all over...well. we won't be killed, but our lives will be like torture.
oh, my printer just produced 16 printed pieces of paper. but it's printed on both sides and using only black ink, not colour. and i switched the printer off already.

LIVE EARTH!!!!
-To demand that my country join an international treaty within the next 2 years that cuts global warming pollution by 90% in developed countries and by more than half worldwide in time for the next generation to inherit a healthy earth;
-To take personal action to help solve the climate crisis by reducing my own CO2 pollution as much as I can and offsetting the rest to become “carbon neutral;”
-To fight for a moratorium on the construction of any new generating facility that burns coal without the capacity to safely trap and store the CO2;
-To work for a dramatic increase in the energy efficiency of my home, workplace, school, place of worship, and means of transportation;
-To fight for laws and policies that expand the use of renewable energy sources and reduce dependence on oil and coal;
-To plant new trees and to join with others in preserving and protecting forests; and,
-To buy from businesses and support leaders who share my commitment to solving the climate crisis and building a sustainable, just, and prosperous world for the 21st century.
ahh. support Live Earth tonight, 7pm, 7th July 2007, in "the concerts for a climate in crisis". liked the trailer on channel five so much, but haven't been able to find it online to download. anybody have it?
"none of us is exaggerating. global warming is for real."
and oh, on the live earth website, to change the language, if you click on the sg flag, you get malay! i thought i'll get singlish or smthn. lol.
for fun:
Jahrhundert aufzubauen.
that was the live earth pledge in german.

See some people strive to be good at what they do, you know
But among them are the folks that strive to be best in the business.
I like to believe I’m one of those... you know why, listen
The life I chose to live in
Honestly, I tell you I’m fine
I made it on my own,
For all the things I’m known,
And it shows, you hear it all in the beat,
(Hear that)
Young and fly is I
I’m doing what I like, I’m alright
(hey dawg I’m fine ain’t a thing on my mind)
Don’t spend my time getting high
I rather do what I like
I’m living high off the life, you know
(everything is going on)
I don't get high to fly,
Ain't got no reason why,
Me, myself and I,
We’re just fine,
I don't get high to fly,
Or have a drink but why,
Me, myself and I,
We’re alright,
We don't get high to fly.
My life is looking fine,
I had troubles
But they’ve all gone away
I'm sure that you been there,
Trying to make a choice,
Doubt is in the air,
But you're clear.
(You already know what you want)
The weak ones spend their time,
tryna alter their minds,
But I got control of mine
Young and fly is I
I’m doing what I like, I’m alright
(yes I am fine don’t need it to get me high)
Don’t spend my time getting high
I rather do what I like
I’m living high off the life, you know
(everything is going on)
(No, no, no)
I don’t need nothing more (I don’t need nothing more)
Than me, myself, I (me, myself and I)
So tell me when you ready to fly (fly)
People talk about needing something else,
The only thing they need is not to lie to themselves,
I’m good I’m fine I’m happy alone,
No coke no pills no weed in a cone,
One thing though, I’ll tell you lightly,
Tell it how it is now how it might be,
Honestly, I made a choice to be,
Number 1 in this whole industry,
You know the name and the game where I be,
The famous, one and only name is T Lee,
Mama told me the worse like this be
You ain’t never higher than the highest in me
The truth is in me believing in me
I need nothing else to elevate me
Love or hate me, young and healthy
Flying trying to be the greatest I be

Music (miss yeo-inspired compo)
We always dreaded those lessons. The weekly lessons in a badly-decorated Music studio, the half-an-hour sessions that seem to drone on forever, a period in our timetables where we listen to the teacher “who can’t sing” share with us the history of Music and recite pieces off-tone, claiming herself that she has a bad throat.
Beethoven, the Renaissance, there seemed to be so much that we were tested on termly, but I only have these two examples in my mind, simply because she articulated them in a weird accent. Till now, I do not know whether it is Bee-tho-ven or Beh-tho-ven. She used both. Also, whether it is Rer-nai-sence or Reh-ner-saun. She used both too.
We never bothered to ask, it did not seem to matter anyway. Why would we want our young minds to be cluttered with Music history? How does it even affect us that Beethoven was deaf? It does not, in the very least, change our lives when Bach produced his many pieces. In the society now, which teenager in the right mind would “give a damn” about the classics when the boom boxes all around are blasting genres of pop, rock and hip hop?
Nevertheless, being in one of the top schools in the country, it is in our blood to study for tests. So, even without the very minute interest in the development of Music over time, passing the eight tests she set us over the two years was a rather easy feat. I also remember vividly achieving an ‘A’ for a Secondary Two Music project with a few classmates who disliked the lessons as much as I did.
We thought we would be free from the heavy boulders chained to us that was Music when we finally advanced to Secondary Three, since Music lessons were only applicable to the lower Secondary students. We would mock the juniors carrying white and yellow Music files, trudging into the badly-decorated Music studio for half-an-hour-weekly sessions which seem to last forever with the teacher “who can’t sing” and always seemed to have a bad throat.
Little did we realise, that the little once-a-week sessions has embedded in each of us a microchip, one that nurtured in us culture, particularly in terms of art. Music seems to be what our lived revolved around, though seldom Fur Elise.
We do not anticipate stepping into the Music studio again, yet we always look forward to the occasional Music performances during assembly, where we, with the culture of Music embedded in us, appreciate and immerse ourselves in Music from all over the world.
Those two years may not have been very entertaining, but what it did to us was something that had enriched us, such that we will remain cultured citizens. Looking back, it is actually hard to believe what Music can do to one’s soul.

my cousin said it's time for me, at my age, to look for "close guy friends". haha. any takers?

dead? no.
school rocks! more of the people i think.
and and. assembly today was in aircon hall, and after we got out and returned to class, amb and i both agreed that it was pretty hot. eek. like, we're already used to the temperature in the hall, not that it was really cold, but good enough. though i would rather they have the classrooms aircon-ed instead.
imagine dancers in the stuffy hall, since the openings at the top are all sealed and only certain doors can be open, and i doubt they'll be able to dance in air-con. as in, not abilty able, but prohibition able.
liwen kept saying it's 117 days to o's. garg. but i'm still here anyway.
I'm talkin' bout love
All my girls stand in a circle and clap your hands this is for you
Ups and downs highs and lows no matter what you see me through
My boyfriend he don't answer on the telephone
I don't even know where the hell he goes
But all my girls we're in a circle and nobody's gonna break through
-------------------------------------------------------
@8.57pm
scrap that. the above's nonsense.
went to kfc with 4/1 people, made super lot of noise, but we had great fun. i tell you. josie and i were the best. aaron, jasmine, adelaine and liwen all succummbed to the dark side by eating. (all ate miso crunch, lol.) and the both of us didn't even go queue! heh. josie's rationale: we don't buy. we get from them and eat. while both of us were doing work. haha.
ehh. sec four ler leh. must do alot alot of tys. even amb's attempting, okay, planned, to do the tys thrice. i've never even thought of that. but well, most of us there doing work were doing tys luh.
then we talked, alot. of alot of stuff, ranging from class gossip to our first love. OMG AARON AND HIS PRIMARY TWO CRUSH, which he only knew about today. and yes, my p2 crush too. why does everything happen in p2? funny.
were damn high and damn noisy, i don't know why people didn't chase us out, though there were in fact pretty much staring. but what. you've got a problem with strong friendship? haha.
weijie and keng yang and aswin joined us halfway, then we got even high-er. then got rainbow on the ground, from light shining thru the glass door. phototaking frenzy. then we continued crapping and crapping and laughing and laughing. the bunch's super fun.
liwen sent me home, for the what, third time this week? and my mum was waving fro the balcony window. she called me when i was at the opposite block, the block which my balcony faces. so i was telling her i'm just opposite. then when we stepped out of the block i saw her going into the balcony, then she waved to us. and after like, five seconds, liwen still couldn't find where my mum was. after another five seconds of pointing out to her, she finally realised. lol.
yea and i'm proud of my girls cuz i saw them studying.(:

revive photoblog.
.jpg)
it was a "hunt for singapore's heritage", so we had to take sbs transport (bus and north east line of the mrt) all over singapore with clues from our question booklets to get to checkpoints and complete tasks. one of them was to get to chinatown and take a photo with a deejay at smith street. here:
we sorta ran out of time cuz we didn't have enough wits, so out of the five checkpoints, we only managed to go to three, one which i don't even think is right, cuz we didn't see the checkpoint standee there. but anyways, loads of fun. went back to vivocity, where we were to hand in our question booklets before three pm or be disqualified, and we reached at 3.06, so yes, our booklets weren't accepted. doubt we'll get anything even if we submitted it though.
that's lunch, yes, with compliments from sbs transit. from top, tuna (bro's), crabstick (mine) and egg mayo (dad's). mine was chock full of onions, and stephanie doesnt like onions. but nevermind. it was still edible.
there were dance comps going on, and they invited tanglin dance to perform. recognised those orange dance tees. so i was entertained by loads of dancing till around 8, then there was this performance by antagon AKTion, a german theatre company. their item had stilts and fire and light effects and a live band playing the background music. awesome.
halfway through, this china lady sat beside me. the volunteers (aka teenagers chalking up cip hours) gave out feedback forms, and i helped her fill in hers, and from there i found out she was a teacher. a heavily accented one, so i suspect she's a teacher in china, not sg. anyway.
